Well Hell Bro, you just live right down the road from me...right there in SanD...Why dontcha hop in your rig and drive on up here so I can try one out.:peace:

You know I look at your sig and I got to tell ya I like it what you got going on there bud. Just missing that one real big one like the 93" Extra 330SC BaaBoom. Man I did some quick figures in my head for a electric build and that things is going to be around $2500 or so maybe more. BaaBoomBoom BANG!!!

Oh, believe me I love that 93 Extra, I love Extra's in general and that one is a beauty. I fly at an electric only field that is plopped right down on city parks land, we have a lot of space but it can be crowded, its not what I would call "giant scale friendly." I have done some thinking about building an electric 93, by my calculations it would come in at around $1800. Waiting on the Banshee project before I do anything :D

Have a quick question for you guys. When plugging in the wires for the servos I know you follow the sequence so does that mean when I get to the ailerons I have one plugged into the ail slot but the other skips the gear channel and plugs into the aux1. So do I skip say the yellow wire and use the green wire? I think you will be able to follow my wiring enough to see what is going where. If not let me know and I will explain.

Updated the picture for you guys hopefully it helps. BTW you do know if you click on it...it will get much much bigger right... Anyway it say's in the book to turn off all Dual Rates. How the heck do you do that on a DX8. It says the plane has to be setup and flying but to turn off the rates. I only fly in two modes. Low and High. On the low side I have my rate set to give me about 20% on Ail/Elev 30% on Rudd and on high rate all I can get. So Im a bit confused on how I turn the dual rates off. If I zero them out the servos wont even move. So my nOObness is really showing now and know. The pic below hopefully helps explain things better on how I have everything connected...At this point it's probably wrong too. LOL

Yes that looks right. But just plug it in, do the "teaching set up" and then test it. You test it by moving the plane with you hands. Lift the tail and the elevator should move up. Swing the tail to the right and the rudder should move left. roll the plane right and the ailerons should go left.

Great thank you. Im still confused on how to turn off dual rates on my DX8. What I did, but haven't tried it yet is this.

Unplugged the cortex and started from scratch. Right now the cortex is not connected. I just finished going threw the whole setup process with my TX = DX8 and RX = AR7610 with one sat. Im using my F Mode switch for 3 different flight modes. Mode 0 left at stock settings. Mode 1 set my D/R and Expo for low rates flight. Mode 2 is for 3D so all I can get on D/R and a bit more on the expo. I did however turn the expo on modes 1 and 2 way down. All that's left to do is take it up and trim it out. AUX2 will be the control switch for the cortex. Just wish I knew how to turn off the dual rates.

Hey Bushwacker, what they mean by turning off dual rates is make it so it has 100% travel on all surfaces in any mode of flying. Do they mention anything about expo? Same principle as with your helis and the flybarless systems, everything needs to be zeroed out on sub trim and then zero it out mechanically. The Cortex likes everything to be zeroed for you to get the most out of it.

Ah ha I was thinking that, just wanted to make sure before I made any mention of Heli in here. Plus I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. Thanks brother man.

Well I got it going sorta. The aileron and rudder are mixed up somehow. Elevator functioned properly nose up/down, side to side rudder does not move. Tilt the wings and the right ail and rudder move. So if you have ideas on why this is going on and how I fix it would be great... :) I disconnected the cortex and plugged in the control surface wires like I had them on the RX and it works properly. So Im not sure what the deal is. Having a hard time finding anything on the net about this issue too.
