Scale Bud Nosen 1/4 Scale Cub?

Finally got a little work done. Got the right wing hinged and got started on the fuse.

Got started on the fuse framing. Glued the two fuse sides together and marked out where I need to make the cutouts. I went over the BUSA 1/4 scale Cub build to get an idea of what I needed to do. The BUSA Cub does more pre-fab work in their kits. I like to completely understand what I'm doing before I start. I lined the front of the side with F5 to make all the marks.

Built the left side first. The instructions say to build the rear first, then attach it to the front side piece. I pinned the side piece down, and built the rear off of it. Made more sense to me.

Hit a bit of a snafoo on the fuse sides. With the stretched plans and poor die cutting, when I went to check both sides were the same, they didn't match completely. For any one with a Bud Nosen Cub to build, I would suggest building the left side, with cabin top, then build the right lower, and add the cabin top over the left side fuse, so they are the same. After a bit of tweeking, I got the sides to match up. I see why BUSA did away with the die cut cabin top. I also cut some access holes in F4, F5, and F6.

That’s a bummer brother.
FWIW, I always build the second side directly on top of the first side.

I used F5 and the dash former to get an idea of how I wanted to build the new firewall. I had to make a few adjustments along the way, but I think it will work out ok.

Made some larger cuts on the bottom corners, and recessed the sides of the firewall for better support, before gluing it in place.
