I agree EF makes some nice planes, but in my experience, the only plane I've seen come apart in mid air is an EF 104. :?
I've been to a few events here and there and seen a bunch of 3dhs planes fly, never seen one come apart (in person).
Really EF plane? Somebody Had to forget to use CA in the build.
I was there... and this story getting twisted so I'm going to intervene:
the tail coming apart had nothing to do with the airframe, and those who were there that whole day know that, without a doubt.
The tail section was vibrating profusely due to very sloppy servos that were violently fluttering in flight on the elevator and rudder. This caused weakening of the airframe to such an extent that even Chris Hinson recommended it not fly without some serious maintenance. A brief inspection was performed by the owner, and one of the servos was replaced prior to the flight where the tail separated, but it was too little too late. Some lessons were learned that weekend, and life is all about learning from mistakes... so lets leave this issue alone now and call it a life lesson, ok?
And now back to the Redwing 30cc Slick 540....
