Alert! CALL TO ACTION: FAA threatening new regulations!!!

Hello all,

The FAA is currently threatening new regulations, mainly imposing a hard altitude restriction of 400ft. over many clubs. This is a non-negotiable limit if signed into law, meaning you will never be able to get permissions to fly above it, and everybody needs to help make their voice heard. Share this link with your friends, your family, your club members, everyone. It can be filled out and submitted by anybody in the USA and takes less than a minute to do. From the AMA:

"AMA members: We need your help. The Federal Aviation Administration is considering a new policy that would limit all recreational model aircraft operations to 400ft in controlled airspace – with no exceptions. If implemented, this policy would end many of our longstanding, safe operations. Send a letter to Congress TODAY and ask them to contact the FAA on this critical issue.

This is not a matter of whether you believe the AMA is doing their job, this is a matter of we need to speak up as a whole. The last time something like this came up and the AMA asked for a call to action, a very minimal number of us spoke up (about 14,000 people, or less tan 10% of the AMA body). This is every bit our fault as it is theirs. Please don't take this situation lightheartedly, this is the governments gateway into clamping down severely upon us and possibly eliminating the hobby as we love permanently!

They are not threatening. They announced it.

Well... in an indirect way they are by hindering our hobby with adding blanket regulations without the supporting data to say that what we are doing is unsafe. The threat is that there appears to be a complete disregard for the minority, which is why we need to keep speaking up for ourselves and contributing by any means of public voicing opportunities (which is how the government works).

AMA has tried to be proactive, but with the government attempting to regulate airspace in a quick manner they are using their strong arm to make us bend to new regulations in the name of "safety", which I feel is irresponsible and infringes my freedom to fly responsibly.

Remember... it wasn't a bad thing when there was a suggested 400ft rule in class G, but to make that law is no longer an advisory - That's an issue. To voice our opinion to change that is a necessity.

I like 'em "BIG"!
The sad thing here is, that first the government will take away our freedom to fly. The next thing they will try is to take away the air that we breathe. For a surcharge they will allow us not to suffocate. And this is what we get for electing them into office.

The announcement is a threat. It is not law for AMA members yet.

Make no mistake, the FAA wants absolutely nothing to do with model airplanes. They understand we've been operating nearly flawlessly since before the existence of the FAA. The FAA is being pushed to do something by the ATO right now, and in the past, the DOD and SS have ordered the FAA to react as well. This is the time to speak up and show there is significant public backlash against the FAA if they try to regulate us further.
