Now that's just cruel Earle! If I do the whole canopy can I reduce the time back down to your original estimate since it'll just be one spot again?For each spot...double the time

I did test the process last night and it looks like it will work great! I have some really fine sandpaper used for sharpening my wood planes (the kind you pops have wood with...not the kind you fly). So I started with 800 grit, then f
Went to 1200, then 2000, then Mint like @Pistolera said....I have lasted polish on order from Amazon that should be hear tomorrow but after the Mint grit it looks almost great already! Since I said there might be more than one spot I'll get photos f the next one I do so y'all can see what it wold look like if it was actually happening...which it isn't since this is all hypothetical and would never put happen to a builder with as much experience as I have!
Ps...I don't think the mint grit is actually needed after 2000 grit but who could skip that step!

Here's a little progress of the repair process...
Original Hysol on the canopy
After 800 grit sandpaper to remove the epoxy
after 1200 grit
After 2000 grit
After the coarse plastic polish
Final results after final plastic polish
It looks better in real life and there are still a few micro-scratches in places that will no doubt be easy to remove...I'm waiting until I have the full canopy complete and I will give it a full polish prior to Painting to remove any fine scratched I may cause during construction...It'll be the nicest canopy I've ever had after all this!
