Hello all, I promised if I’d won the sanding blocks I would do a Carden PRO build here, SO Here we go. First apologies for any miss spellings, but the pictures usually speak for themselves.
So, about a two years ago I made a HUGE mistake, actually three of them, I flew a Carden Pro with a 150, one with a 170 and one with a DA200. I just knew I would own one someday. (OH and one with a DLE 222)
I am no Master builder but it will be built well and strong, I built a 118 which helped me get to the IMAC Worlds, I didn’t think I would do it again, but the cheaper way to do it is to just build one. I sold the 118 and lots of other stuff to be able to get it, I hated it to sell it but this will be my dream plane.
The KIT, The quality is AMAZING!!! Well packaged.
As you guys can see on the first picture, between Kevin Turner and Wayne, I was able to get the kit last Sunday, TAHNK YOU GUYS. That same night after Family night I put together the motor box in about ten minutes, just a dry run to see how it goes together. Like a glove.
Before the gluing begins, I think is best to pre drill F1 to whichever engine you are using, in my case DA200, KS 95’s rear dump. So lots of reading and a few calls later I have started on it. OK ENOUGH READING RIGHT? Pictures please!!!!

So before I started drilling and boring out holes to save weight, I call DA to verify the centering of the mounting holes, 80mm on the horizontal line and 90mm vertical, once I was done measuring 1000 times I made my first mark. Using a Bridgeport mill with a digital display made things easy. Once I found my first point I zero the X and Y axis, I then moved over 80mm, drilled, down 90mm back over to zero.

The next few pics are to show what all I’ve done so far, I should be able to start gluing the engine box tonight. Unless I go and play a round with Tiger Woods at Augusta National today. It is a MAD house. I live about 20 minutes from the course.
