Silly question, are the wing and stab tube holes already cut in the Styrofoam or do you have to do that? If you have to do it, how and the world do you get them right, other than being an awesome builder :)

I’ve never been a fan of leaving open holes or slots on the foam so I cut out some very small pieces of light balsa and glued them in the slots. Just a piece of mind is all. After that I glued on the carbon fiber strips on the foam with 30 minute epoxy.

The wing and the stabs come with the holes already in them. Not sure how Dennis does it. Good question.

That makes me feel a little better about building one :) I can handle the rest of the building aspect, just didn't know about the holes for the tubes. Thank you!

There is a root rib fixture, and attaches to the wing with a couple of small pins. The square cut out for the end of the tube sockets are basically "hot knifed" out or using NiChrome wire (just like a hot wire), to remove as little material as possible. Once that is cut out, there is another jig that fits inside the cut out for the tube socket.

That is the jest of it.

Not much to show, it was a short night, watched a classic with the kids. Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark and they loved it. I worked on the hard points for the wings and the incidence wood blocks. I’ve notice on some cardens where the 1/8 inch plate actually bends when guys install the bolt that holds the wing in place, this causes the vertical trusses to split, so to fix this I’m using the 1’’ x 1’’ x 3/8th blocks that the kit comes with for the aileron hard points. I will point this out on the pictures.
