Hello Everyone,
My name is Anthony Donzella and I am currently 18 years old from Wheeling,WV. I have been introduced to this hobby ever since I was born, my Dad would always take me up to the field, strap me in my car seat and let me watch the airplanes fly. My first word was 'airbuh' or airplane. I then started on the trainer at age 5 and later got into sport/aerobatic flying. Between 12-15 I got out of the hobby because most of my friends weren't interested in it and I was really the only kid up at our field. For my 15th birthday I got a 42" 3DHS Slick and started 3D flying, a year later I got a 71" Slick and I never wanted to stop flying.
Just this past year I started helicopters, after Paul Futey, the club president at the time, let me fly his Raptor 50 (first time ever flying a helicopter). Before the flight ended I was doing flips, rolls, and inverted flight. I then got my first helicopter a Raptor 60, later a Trex 600FBL on 10s, and then an Avant Aurora FBL.
This past year I have attended many local events, and also The Ohio Huckfest where "Ronbo1" (and The Hillbilly Huckers) let me borrow his 50cc 89" Slick to compete in King 50. I have also been going to schools, boyscout meetings, demonstrations at Cabela's Outfitters, and even girlscout/christian groups teaching them about the RC universe and getting kids into this hobby the way I was introduced into it.
Cabela's has asked me to promote a helicopter they are selling in stores, I was voted as our club president (Hillhoppers Flying Club); and for everything I have done for the club, they awarded me a 3DHS 74" Edge at our Christmas party. I also won a 40"EPP Edge in my first 3D competition at the Holiday Electric FunFly in Geneva,OH.
