Club 40 Racing? (Yes, I know they're not Giants)

Didn't see another forum area to post this in so feel free to move this if it needs to go in another spot.

My club has some members that are big into the Club 40 racing with the World Models Skyraider MK2's. They keep telling me I need to get one but in all honesty I'm more into 50cc and above planes, helis, and not cleaning up glow fuel goo. However, I won't deny that it could be fun and it would be a way to compete even though on a club level.

Anyone here doing any Club 40 Racing and have any thoughts or suggestions?

Yes but I just don't have that kind of time. I remember when Tony Russo moved out to AZ and was complaining about driving hard all day just to get across the state.

@Notorious B.E.N. We have had club racing at Our field. Keep The planes Stock and every one runs the same Engines, Stock mufflers and the same props, supplied by the club, and given to the Flyers the day of the Race. All flyers Use the Same Fuel Supplied by the Club, and most of all Have fun Go Fast Turn Left. The coarse can be decided by the flyers. 2 pylon or 3 pylon coarse, and distance over the coarse. The shorter the coarse makes it very intense. When just starting out I would suggest a greater distance. Then as YALL gain experience shorten the distance. I Hope this gives you some Help and insight about club 40 racing.

Well, our club is doing it now but I am wanting to hear about other peoples thoughts on it.

Most of the guys in the club here fly models with a .61 or smaller engine and wouldn't fly anything that doesn't run on nitro. There are that have an electric but it's still a nitro dominant club.

I got into gassers years ago and I love flying them because of how they present and sound plus you don't have to clean up the glow fuel goo afterwards.

Myself and others in our club have been talking about the EVO 10 gasser and the SkyRaider. The 10 is very comparable to a 46 size glow something to consider FWIW affordable and cheaper than the glow. I still have a couple 6 gallons of Power Master glow Fuel I had been flying My Quarter 40's and my Quicky 500's with once it is gone so are all the glow motors

I'd like to hear what you think of that EVO gasser. From what I've read they still get slimy because you have to mix the fuel 20:1 or something like that.
