Well I've been working on this thing most evenings except this evening. I have the base coat of yellow on everything except the ailerons. Now I'm ready to start adding the colors that really make it pop! I've got an order in for paint at Wings West RC. I'm going to give their paint matching skills a shot. Kinda pricey to use their whole system, but good paint ain't cheap!

I like 'em "BIG"!
VERY NICE!!!I've been dabbling with this thing when I get a chance in the evenings or over noon hour. I drilled all the hinge holes out and plugged them with a dowel. Then I marked the centerline carefully and drilled for new hinges. Now I'm sanding them down to match the bevel.
Some of the covering showed up today and I'm hoping the rest will be here by tomorrow.

Slowly but surely.... The light in the garage doesn't do this metallic teal justice. I'm down to one aileron and the stabs and elevators!! I'm really getting excited about this thing by now. The paint should be here mid week and I hope to be ready for it by then. I can't wait to get it all together and see how it looks in the sun, preferably 6 feet in front of me in a hover!

Very nice! Did you go with the Monokote Metalic Teal? Reason I ask, I purchased some of that some years back. It has to be one of the prettiest colors every made.Slowly but surely.... Yes sir it is! I pretty much had a color scheme figured out until I walked into the hobby shop and saw this.... Then plans HAD to change! The only problem is paint matching; I had to give up on that and modify the scheme so I don't have any of our running into the cowl or hatch.

Wow...she looks great. Did you get some completed photos?Well it's getting very near completion! I've got the bottom of one stab left and then it's on to paint! I just had to get it out in the sun to see how it looked! I'm lovin it!!
