Curious. Ethanol or not

I try to run ethanol free if I can find it close by when seeking airplane fuel. I try to buy at least 89 octane, but mostly 91 for the planes.....my truck always gets the short end of the deal, it gets 87 octane LOL. I run Husqvarna full synthetic XP oil at 50:1 in all my planes.

That's too funny. We must be twin son's fom different mothers. Lol....I do the same thing where my truck is concerned. Why is it our planes get the best motors, the best batteries, the best servo's and the best gas. But the vehicle we use to transport our fine flying machines has to suck it up with second rate gas??!! Lol

Because the truck has a knock sensor, MAP sensor, MAF sensor, O2 sensor, etc, to control the injector pulse width and timing and it is a 4 stroke that does not count on the oil in the fuel to lubricate things.

Wow! The VP-SEF is expensive!! I thought paying $7.60 for 98 octane ethanol-free was bad. With the amount of gas I burn it would cost me $110 per weekend just for gas/oil.

The ZDZ-180 loves the 98 but, will run on 91. If I am just practicing or it is cooler out, I will run 91. If I am heading out for a contest or it is going to be hot out, I get the good stuff.

I run 91 or 93 octane premium with ethanol and Redline 40:1. The closest non ethanol fuel to me according to the websites I've found is about 100 miles. I can get race fuel or avgas, but I've never had an issue with what I'm running so since it's not broke, I won't fix it.;)
