after a short night of sleep, with the grand kids, a bit of building the boost tabs, with the garage door open, the temperature climbed to +17c today, no snow left anywhere

So I picked up some 10-32 threaded rod to make myself some of those clamps like you have. Just to be sure I'm reading your drawing correctly only one of the two aluminum pieces has threaded holes and the other has a through hole at the bottom and a hole only drilled half-way in the top.

they both have threaded holes but I will post another picture with explanation, in a short while

Here is the photo with explanation, now the hole where I said must be loose, is so the upper part of the clamp has a bit of play when you apply pressure.

sorry for my explanation I was never a teacher and there is a good reason for this, I don't explain properly sometimes LOL
If still not sure, I can also make a short video

Thanks that's exactly what I was thinking just wanted to be sure. I know what you meen about teaching. I have been an electrician for the past 10 years. When it comes to running conduit I can teach you all day long. The theory and all the diff formulas for stuff though I know but couldn't explain it to someone else to save my life.

I wl be making a couple of the clamps when I return to work on Friday night. The company I work for has all the machine tools I need to fabricate stuff like this.
