IMAC Delro 2.5M Raven Build

Pistolera

HEY!..GET OUTTA MY TREE!
I am rather embarrassed to return here and discover it has been almost a year since I posted any progress (because I have not really made any) :frown:...not to mention I started this build in 2014...Pathetic!

Anyway, progress is being made and I am very near completing all details and beginning the paint prep process! At this rate I should have her in the air by 2030!

Don't feel bad. I've had my Krill 330SC since Oct 2012 and haven't finished it yet. Life (buying land, building a house, and moving) got in the way. It's patiently waiting for me to get off my butt and back to it.

It takes as long as it takes, or as I like to tell people, "It will be done when it's done and not a minute before".:yesss:

Hey guys...need some input. Did some calculations and right now I have about 2X the air exit area as I do air intake area (see pictures a few posts ago). I always strive for 3X so I'm a bit short. The engine cylinder is going to be fully exposed to airflow and this plane is going to be really easy to shroud so I should have great flow through the cooling fins. Part of me feels this plane will be fine as is....That said, I don't want to leave it as is and then be trying to fix the situation AFTER she's all painted and pretty!

What do you guys think? Anyone know of any louvre blades that I could attach ahead of the cooling slots to create suction on the exit air slots?

One thing to keep in mind is this plane will fly IMAC style, not 3D so I feel like it'll get good airflow in general.

Thanks!

Hey Brett,

You can do what allot of the warbird guys do and fly the plane with just the primer on it. Maybe you can just leave the cowl primed when you fly it. That way you can make any necessary adjustments before you paint it.
