There is a standing rule that I have always followed. If a boo boo is made and responsibility is taken for said boo boo. No explanation is required. However, if asked what boo boo was made, then it must be disclosed. UGH....so I was prepping the right wing section to be cut free from the center wing section. I had already had them separated. I was working on installing the anti rotation pins and thought I had slipped with the glue at one of the joints, as I could not gently get them apart as I was able to previously. So in my infinite wisdom, I reach for my very...."VERY" sharp serrated razor saw to gently slice through the glue so I could separate the sections. It wasn't until I had tried not once...oh no, but twice (at different angles mind you) to cut through the glue and discovered it was not glue I was trying to cut through. "Why won't that crap cut"? I am thinking. Well, I finally got the glue free from the two mirror ribs of the sections only to discover that was "NOT" cutting so easily was the damn wing tube for the right wing section. GRRRR...…. Not one, but two nicely sliced gouges in the tube. Enough that I am sure the structural integrity has been compromised so I just will not use it. Dang, that 24"x1.5" diameter cost me 42.00 bucks to replace.
So there you have it. You just "HAD" to know.
As a dear late friend of mine use to say, “An education will cost you.” He’s been gone 5 years and I still hear his voice every time I get educated.
Another one of his favorite sayings was “Nothings ever easy and everything cost money”. A hate that he’s always right.
