IMAC Double Build, Carden Pro 124" Extra 300 40%

Great news. I am officially done covering the fuselage. All that is left is few odds and ends but overall, it is done. All that is left to do is cover the wings, install the radio, and oh wait, primer and paint the canopy, wp, and cowl.

i wanted to show you my squeegee tool, as mentioned by Tom Wheeler. It is a doubled up 1/16th balsa, and the grain is perpendicular to the surface that I am squeegeeing against. . therefore, it is quite strong, but will not scratch the surface.

That is a great tool strong yet flexible and soft when get damp from the ammonia .
I too had a nap yesterday for 2 1/2 hrs , i am amazed at your fast progression on the covering .

Got all the gear for the Jeti radio setup , extension and hardware for those JR servos .

I better your going to start painting to day , good day for three lite coats of primer .
Your working faster than a production line . Wow .

That covering job really looks nice Cam!

thank you all. Now, time to go spend time with the girls. Just assembled the airplane to get a rough Idea on the weights.

SO this is the weight of the Carden with the DA 150L.

this has the tank, elevator servos, and motor with headers and tuned pipes installed.
total weight is 34.43 pounds.

still need to account for the paint/primer, and covering of wings, and electronics. Looks like I may add another 10 pounds, so this will probably end up weighing 44 pounds. My guess.

So this is the one with the DA 200, total weight is 37 pounds, still needs all the same as the one with the 150.

SO I will add another 10 pounds, and I will guess total weight will be around 47 pounds.

Maybe it will be less, do not know, but I can try to guess weight of other things and we can add them up:

37 pounds as is

then 7 servos at 3 ounces a piece = 21 ounces
propeller = 10 ounces
spinner = 4 ounces

batteries + receiver/power distribution system = 2.5 pounds

baffle plate + shroud = 10 ounces

covering for the wings and horns/pushrods = 1 pound

paint and primer = 1 to 2 pounds (I am guessing at this, I have no idea what that will weigh).

37 pounds + 133 ounces (8 pounds) = 45 pounds. SO if it ends up at 45 to 47 pounds, I will be happy.

I will weight it again as we get closer~!

The DA 200 my guess will be 43.-43.75 lbs for that big bad DA 200 which is very competitive in my books that's what Brett Bullen Carden weights and it flys very will with that DA200 lighten fins (1.1lbs) and on canisters , power to spare .

I'm guessing about 1.1lbs for paint and primer ,remember nobody looks at the bottom of the cowl so see how well it's painted just the top and side have to very good . Paint just enough for color coverage and then light on the clear that's where you can save some unsprung weight from that large bottom cowl .
