Servos came today :)

I went with 8 Savox SB-2230SG servos. I cut out the servo slots in the wings a few days ago and went over the airframe with an iron. Now I have to finalize the scheme. I think the bottom will just have 2 black stripes near the wing tips and on the elevators and the top will have the paint drip and all the logos. Maybe I'll have him do that cool thing where it looks like the cowl is ripped open and you can see the engine.

Speaking of engines, I should be getting the GP-123 early next week. I flew this plane on a DA-120 at huckfest and it was nice power but the GP should be awesome!

How else are you supposed to transport an all white plane but with an all white truck????

My dad got a hard top for his truck so I could transport the Slick :) It juuuust fits if you go at an angle.

I can't wait to pull up to my next event with it :D

On another note, the torque rating on these Savox servos is crazy! Torque(@7.4V oz-in): 583.3 :veryshocked: I don't think i'll have any problems with blowback using these  2 per aileron, 1 per elevator, and 2 on the rudder.

I'll be using some 1.75'' SpotOnRC V2 arms

I'm going to install the elevator servos for now. First I'm covering the servo wires with a mesh material to protect it from fraying and heat shrinking the ends to keep them in place. It also gives it a little cleaner look. Then I install the rubber grommets on the servos and the brass eyelets with the flange on the bottom

Side note: i like to use the servo boxes to hold my hardware so it doesn't get lost :p

Before I installed the servos I had to open the slot for the servo wire slighty since im using the protective material. Without it on it fits perfect but I like to have my wires covered.

Once I have the servos in the slots I go ahead secure them with the supplied screws. Then I back the screws out, apply a small amount of thin CA to the threads, and thread them back in.

I'll install the controls horns next but I'm going to save that for later.

Liking the dressing on the servo wires!

Thanks, i love that stuff! Lightweight, looks great, and does a fantastic job protecting the servo wire.

Comes in different colors too ;)

Engine should be here Wednesday. Eric at B&E graphics is moving to a bigger location so there is going to be a delay on my graphics. Hopefully i'll get it before the Lodi event the 3rd week of October. The all white does look pretty good though and i wouldn't mind flying it that way. Maybe just add the black stripes to the bottom and leave the top white for now.

Engine is here!

I just got a shipping notice today for the engine mount so it should be here in a few days. Then I can get it bolted up :)
