These are all good thoughts and you all have the right to your opinions. As a reminder please post those comments at regulations.gov to give it a chance to be heard.
There is a divide coming with the commercial technology blossoming for platforms capable of revenue generating tasks. However, education of lawmakers is needed to differentiate their legitimate concerns with simple hobby enthusiasts enjoying an activity. Also, the whole business about regulating the demo pilots is just ridiculous.

These people are idiots that are going to being a lot of heat on the Multirotor community. In the same breath if you were to devise a thin lexan bubble to protect the vitals and strap a transmitter on the rig, now you have a GPS guided modern Jet Pack. All you really need is a 3xis gimabl setup for a seat and there is no more wobbling for the passenger.
The future of travel is going to change so fast, I bet in 20 years, you will see personal aircraft for daily transit.
