There is a lot I want to do to the trailer but I just want to get enough done that I can get the Slick to the field and then I can work on it throughout the summer and get it the way I want it. I will have the balsa dust flying this weekend. Have you decided on your colors? I'm going to go with yellow and red since I have a ton of it, might even throw a little black in there too.

I have a friend that just did a plane in yellow and red. I like it and it's easy to see in the air. I don't deviate much from my normal, all my planes are the colors in my avatar pic. I have big rolls of it. Unfortunately it's all Ultrakote and I have never done a complete plane with it. I have always used Monokote in the old days so this will be a new experience.
It's funny you ask about covering as I was just thinking how fast this build is going. One month so far. And I was looking for a long project when I started it but I didn't realize how much I missed building and I have just been spending ALL my free time on it.

I got some work done today, I cut some carbon fiber strips to go on the elevators and rudder. Here are a couple of pictures of how I cut the carbon fiber strips. I started getting the sheeting ready for the fin/rudder so I can bag them tomorrow. I will show more pictures of the carbon strip placement tomorrow before I put them in the bags.

I got the holes cut in the belly pan today, I still need to do some sanding on the holes to clean them up. I then laid out where to cut the front of the pan to clear the landing gear. Once I had everything laid out, I cut the opening with my razor saw. I cut as far as I could with it and then I switched over to my hobby knife and packaging knife for the area's I couldn't cut with the razor saw.
This works really well and this is the process I will be using to cut out my elevator, rudder, and ailerons since I don't have a bandsaw big enough to do it, although I have been eyeing the Grizzly 14" bandsaw.

That looks like the same carbon I used. Very light and easy to cut. Did you glue it to the foam before sheeting. I used the resin for sheeting to glue both sides of the carbon.
I am going to Texas for the Apache Pass Freeze Fly so no progress for me for the next week.

You are caught up with me now
I have a band saw and cut one part with it but the rest I did the same as you. It actually was easier I thin k for the elevators.

It is easy cut, and very light. I'm going to glue it with wood glue to the foam before I put the resin on the sheeting. Have a good time in Texas, if you want to freeze you could come to northern Illinois, we are going to have -30 wind chill tonight.
