Most automotive paint distributors can do this with any color. If you paint a scrap of material approx 6x6" and take it to your local PPG or DuPont paint people they may be able to match. Also I know sherwin Williams deals offers industrial cabinet companies with aerosol stains and opaque colors for touch-up packages. If your local distributor has the capability maybe they can do I for you with paint?

Yes, any automotive paint distributor worth it's salt should be able to scan a sample provided by you (just a 4" square piece of wood painted with your color) and come up with a reasonable match in a spray can.

I have seen some guys use evercoat to fill low spots and build up edges around gear doors, windows, access hatches and such. 1) what type of evercoat product is being used? I've seen some from easy sand to super fill not sure which one to get. 2) Some of you guys I see are using joint compound. Is it like the evercoat in any way?

I'm not sure what evercoat I used. But I do know it set extremely fast and was not fun to sand. But it left a strong fill that didn't compress over time.

So here's a question related to the task at hand. How do you fit the lexan canopy with the hatch structure and then go about doing the fiberglassing?

Also, any suggestions for making sure you get the lines on the canopy right when you go to paint or do you tape, stand back, and re-tape if necessary?

About the Glass, I Glass before gluing the canopy, feather edge the front of the canopy in with filler then prime. You end up with a slight hump that can barely be seen unless close up when painted. As far as the paint line, use fine line tape, get the desired look on one side- then try and duplicate on the other- lifting and resetting the tape if needed. Do this, while standing back every now and again to get a better image of looks.
