I’m going out flying thread 2019

Had the 5th annual Indiana Flyers Club Summer Solstice fun fly today, great weather, first day of sun in the last 10. Here are a few photos, the turn out was down this year 19 fliers. And a photo of yours truly with the Glasair.

We need to come up with a design that is all foam, fairly sturdy and.....The wings eject themselves when a direct hit on a "sweet spot"
on the belly of the fuse happens .

We did this with the original Eflite T-28 Trojan. It took over 75 paintballs and was still flying. The only crashes we had were due to paintballs hitting the linkages and no longer had control of the airplane. It was a hoot and used some techniques from real world fighter flying to make a lot more paintballs miss

Spent the day flying another great day. One of the club members drought his winter project to the field. This completely designed and built by him just a beautiful piece work and craftsmanship.

Took the icon A5 to the lake. Had a good fifteen minutes of flying. Until it flipped taxing on the downwind. This is why you bring your lovely wife along to go retrieve your plane. Could have been just because it was my birthday.... otherwise maybe she’d laugh and make me go get it.

Another good day at the field with the Skybolt. Good flying weather hot a little wind and blue sky. Now if only I can get the throttle servo set up correctly on the Skybolt it would be even better I have been fiddling with it for quite a whilst and just cannot get it quite right. So redid the hole set up again and see if it is any better when I go out again.
