I wish. Someday I’ll have a really large Cub. It did wake me up at 6:15am though. Sounded like a full-Scale buzzing the camper at first light.

Spent the weekend at the 3D Bash in Kennett MO. Over 90 pilots were there and the flying was off the hook all weekend.

I heard Ryan lost his Havoc EDF there. At least he got a bit more use out of his than another member who's went in on the third flight.
I watch Ryan fly his on Labor day and man did he put on a show!

This Saturday we had our 9/11 Memorial/Pavilion Dedication/Club Picnic/25th Anniversary. I took Miss Moana since I haven't flown it in a year and a half.

I changed from a 23 x 8 to a 22 x 10 and I really like the results. It sped up the top end, but also sped up the landings. I have a tendency to land too slow, which isn't much of an issue with a big 3D airplane, but at 24 pounds the wing loading on Miss Moana is higher and doesn't really like going very slow.
I flew it twice Saturday, and brought it back out yesterday for 3 more flights. I've been tuning on the DA50 and the radio setup just a bit and it's running and flying great. I'm also finally getting comfortable flying it. The rudder is VERY sensitive around center so I've got the expo cranked up higher than I normally would. It yaws the tail very easily, but you still need to lean on the rudder pretty hard to maintain a good knife edge. There really isn't much flat area on the sides of the fuse, so the nose needs to be pretty high to maintain it. It makes slow rolls a bit tricky to get slow and straight, but doable if you try.

Spent the day at the airfield getting reacquainted with the Laser. It fired up like normal, easy and quick, would not have known it had not been fired up in 6 months or more. I got several flights in and started to get a feel for the sticks again. Tomorrow will be the Ultimate's turn...
