AWESOME! Way to go. Congratulations!!!! So very excited for you. Now...lets do an endurance flight across the mid west. First stop, Bo-zo I-da-hoe.Quick update,
The Robinhood flys! And it's still in one piece.
I'll try to has together a highlights reel sometime this week and get it uploaded. The cargo bay worked flawlessly too. Several parachute drops without a hitch. And I can't say enough great things about the DA50.
Awesome Mike! Glad to hear it all worked out. I enjoyed following the build.
As someone that's owned 3 DA 50's I agree. They're a bit out classed now a days on power, but as far as sheer reliability they are VERY hard to beat. I've had two dead sticks with DA 50's in the last 6 years. On one the throttle push rod broke, and on the other the Chinese fuel tank split in half and all the gas ran out. One of them I own was in the same airplane for 11 years and never went back to DA. It's enough to make you a FanBoy.
The DA 50 is plenty. And getting better with each tank and tuning.Way to go @pawnshopmike. I knew it would fly good. . . . . I have one question for you though, was the DA50 enough engine? . . . . . . Now you get to kick back, relax and fly it like you stole it. Thanks for sharing your build with the rest of us.
Mike, just wondering if you ever weighed the plane just for grins? The DA 50 is plenty. And getting better with each tank and tuning.
