The most annoying sounding things at our field most of the time are the warbirds. Loud, wide open all the time, running bad, popping and snorting. But I still like them.

Hoffman and I had to learn way too much about noise propagation and db readings. The frequeny of the noise is as important and the loudness. The thing our complainer hated was the on/off throttle of 3D planes and prop ripping. The helis fly lower, with a higher frequency and the noise just does not carry as far. That and the hole the heli guys fly in, mean you can't hear them. I certainly did not hear them the entire time at nall, but one could hear the 3D line from up top.
Sadly most of the emphasis will come down to the 3D line (despite the higher dbs from the scale guys). High flying XA stuff will be the target, not low/slow over the runway 3D.

Mr Pat is the consummate southern gentlemen so naturally he is wanting to get along with his neighbors. I notice the same sign every year driving in about "watching out for dogs and horses" apparently put up by a neighbor. Who allows a 1 ton animal to get loose on a highway ? Speaks to the challenge the TT folks have.

Maybe we're looking at this all wrong. Since we're all addicted to RC airplanes maybe we can get special status that the addiction is a disease from the government. And if we don't hear prop rip we get depressed.
If celebrities get to take dogs onto airplanes for "emotional support" and we're paying for convicts to get sex changes, how far off could I be?

I think those on the forum here should come up with suggested rule changes that will solve this and other problems at Nall. I would bet they would appreciate the input from the 98%.
