Recent AMA articles have dealt with the issue of noise created by some of our models. Noise is certainly in the top two or three issues faced by many clubs around the world. If we, as modelers, wait for our neighbors to complain, you can rest assured the issue is significant.
To prevent ANY possible problems with our current and future neighbors, Triple Tree will require, beginning with Joe Nall 2016 to be “neighbor friendly”. Canister mufflers, three blade props, “soft mounting” of engines, and less than full throttle passes can all be utilized to make our models more environmentally friendly and will be a requirement for Joe Nell 2016.

In other words, bring your brain to the flight line with you every time and don't fly full throttle the whole darn time or you will likely be reprimanded. Lots of awesome flying can be had with much less than full throttle rollers constantly from one end to the other.
Won't cost anyone a dime if people are smart in 2016!!!!!

In other words you have four choices here:
- Cans
- Props
- Soft mounts
- Less than full throttle flying.
Pretty simple which one most of us should choose so that in 2017 they knock it down to three choices and I don't think can's will fall from the list.

Safe to say 2015 will be my last year to Joe Nall. I'm not going to take a weeks vaca, drive 9 hours just to be told how to fly or not fly. I have been flying for 18 years at my field and neighbors all round and not one peep about noise. What's next electric powered Harley Davidson. I find it hard to believe that the full scale planes in and out of triple tree will fall under any kind of noise ordinance.

I think it's definatly going to deter a large majority of attendee's in my opinion. I think 3 blade props suck on RC aerobatic and 3D planes. Can's are heavier and more expensive and both together just take away a lot of performance, especially in the weight department. For those who live anywhere but close to triple tree, especially those out west, the extra expense is a smack in the facewallet. Im also certain that full scale Stearman's and Pats other older planes are way louder than any GAS rc plane with the exception of perhaps rc jets and glow turds. I have a hunch the full scale planes and their many events at Triple tree are part of, if not most of the reason neighbors are complaining. But hey, its Pats place, he can make the rules anyway he wants them.
Its always been a dream of mine to go to Nall, but not so much anymore if they implement performance reducing rules. Just one of the many reasons IMAC lost some appeal. It's not that i manage my throttle's, but because the cost to go to Nall might have just went WAY UP... I am a rule abiding, and courteous flyer, always have been, always will be, and none of my planes rip the crap out of props at wide open throttle, but I cant stand other people or the MAN telling me how to play with my toys. Especially when i am self policing for all the right reasons already. It just takes fun out it.
For the record cans don't stop prop rip or have anything to do with it. Electrics can rip props too. Now I don't like excessive prop rip, I think its pretty annoying but Sleepy, and don't take this the wrong way, but calling people Dumb A$$ on a public forum, and especially your public forum, just because their planes rip props is pretty low and a major negative vibe bro. We are all hyped up from the Nall this year as it just ended and we are all probably still pumped about it, but this kind of news so soon after is kind of a RC BUZZ KILL. I guess Pat is pretty PO'd about the plane crash and fire incident. It looks as if we are all going to pay for it.

I didn't think that not doing full throttle passes and ripping the prop was such a performance deterring factor, seems pretty simple really.

So is anyone willing to make any small sacrifice to keep Triple Tree Safe?
I lost two big events this year due to club closures, one was due to noise and fly overs.
So I'm motivated to keep Joe Nall safe from noise complaints

I have no clue other than engine vibrations on ARF planes do make a lot of noice that resonates through the covering etc?? I certainly would not choose that option.
