Just filter somewhere before the pump and use high temp tubing to the muffler.

I'm taking the smoke out of my 104" Not enough channels now that I can separate the ailerons instead of an equalizer.

Have got a check valve and filter,how close to engine can you tap in from the pump? I'm thinking about just making my own tap for tge fitting

Filter before pump, check valve after pump. I'd say treat it like an ignition as a rule of thumb from motor. I have mine in the fuse, t right after it goes through motor box then the black line to fitting on muffler.
