You will have to build a pretty big barn for that unit and maybe a 470 volt supply.
At $1000 I would not be looking for cross feed it is not likely you can get all those functions and a good machine. Go simple and get a good basics machine.I sent the eBay Sherline back to seller. In good working condition it was not. Would love to have a bigger lathe (and can afford it) but primarily just need to make small parts. I see the Taig is under $1000 with a power feed. Maybe not a power cross feed but again little parts.
Nice little machine, just make sure when you start doing some milling you remove the drill chuck and mount the cutting tool into a proper moors taper that is pulled tight with a bolt. The drill chuck will come out if used for milling. Here’s the mini mill I just picked up from a friend of mine who is upgrading. Should come in handy.
