I agree with njswede, I don't want to see new members driven away or this to become a private club. A fee might help keep scammers and trolls out, but I think it would ruin the feel of this site. Maybe a link for donations, I'd be more than happy to send a little $$ to keep this going.

What we may do is a "Supporter" membership. Where GSN is always free to anyone that just wants to be a part of the community, but if you want to help support the site and allow us the ability to cover events and do cool contests and articles, then you can opt to pay a small fee and for that fee you will get some extra services. Like more PM's, a fancier avatar area, and ??? We are looking into this.

But again, the site will be free, this will only be for people that want to help out.

I like the site supporter idea. Discounts on swag maybe? Nah.... That negates the idea of helping out monetarily.

Just thinking out loud here while shooting photos of my oldest granddaughter's 10th BD.

A "supporter" member system would be great. Combine it with exclusive swag that you can't get without being a supporter. E.g. $25 you get a plane decal saying you're a supporter, $5 you get a t-shirt with the same, $100 you get a hoodie and so on.

Oh...oh...oh...I llliiike this idea. A fancier Avatar? Swag? More PM's? I am so down...... (I'd do it anyway without all the goodies) But hey, incentive is great right? Hee hee. Instead of 170cc'er, How about....ummm, Oh I know? GIANT SCALE KING.....???? LOL..... just funnin' with you Steve. I think it is an awesome idea. Being able to support such an awesome, fun, friendly, informative and overall butt kicking site is well worth a few extra pennies for the kitty, yes????
