Not sure as to the wood type on the aileron stringers so decided to cut my own from medium density Midwest balsa.
is midwest what the sell at a lot of local hobby shops and michaels craft store??? If so I have had good luck with their stuff. National I have gotten some really good stuff from and some crap from. same with tower hobbies branded. its dirt cheap and I do get a lot of good stuff but sometimes you get a pack that all feels like oak. Recently I have gotten my LHS to order me all my wood from SIG. every bit of it has been great.

Cool.... Being able to rip/cut your own wood the way you want it must really be a relief. Too many times I have attempted to assemble a kit only to find the wood is way too dry, way too hard to absorb glue well, and way too warped to even use. I always liked Midwest balsa.

I miss Lonestar balsa but Balsa USA is my choice now.

Working on the ailerons tonight. There are more aileron ribs than wing ribs so had to cut extra aileron pieces.

Dangerous glue. It dries so quick it reminds me of thick CA. Had to use a hammer to get the ply strip in the trailing edge the glue was drying so fast.

This is the aileron side of the hinge. Practice run, I need to make a brake so I can get tighter bends.

I like 'em "BIG"!
You're moving right along aren't you? Real quick question. With the Gorilla glue setting so quickly, do you have any fears it won't absorb into the wood to make a solid joint?
