Bouncing around today. Cut a trial wing strut in aluminum but not sure it's strong enough.

Will these struts bear a side or up/down load? Or will it be end load? Reason I ask is if they will be bearing load from end to end, they should be just fine. Side load or otherwise could allow them to bend. But you knew that huh? LOL

I have a couple of clamps like these. Not the quality brand name as yours, but work just fine. I don't know where I would be without them.

I will cut them in Steel versus aluminum.
