I looked back through your pics. Looks like the difference is he added in those black spacers that say CH Ignition. Maybe you can remove those and it will work without having to re-drill.

Thanks guys. Was happy to get the engine back but was dog tired from work. Unboxed the engine, snapped a couple of photos and settled down to relax for the evening. Turns out I had remote assistance on my build while I was sipping a beer and popping ibuprofen. Awesome.

So you guys are correct, spacers for the carb. No worries, new mounting pattern work underway.

Popped out the expensive stainless steel t nuts, found a piece of fiberglass/ paper tubing leftover from a project long ago.

The new ignition cost was exceptionally cheap considering all of the parts and carb that was included. I've got a new carb, carb extension, carb velocity stack, spacers, ignition and pickup ring. Installed, test run and shipped for $350. Ridiculously cheap.
