s tons of pictures.

I'm really impressed with the quality of this engine. What you'll see here is the internals of the crank case, with the HUGE beefy bottom end.

The cylinder castings are also amazing, no machining required. The cylinder liners are floating inside the cylinder casting, nicely machined and slip fitted in.

The top of the cylinder liners have a copper head gasket as well. The inside of the cylinder head is smooth as can be.

Reed valve body is a 4 sided semi pyramid box. There are 4 small petals, and is housed within a composite / plastic body. There is a 1/8" thick rubber gasket on top and on the bottom that seal it against the aluminum top and bottom plate. There is no need for an external pulse port since it uses a carb orfice that leads to a tiny pulse port on the base plate.

There is also a weight difference after removing all the steel bolts and replacing all of them with titanium.

Have a look.

Joe T. Did you get your 70 twin running yet ? ! Just wondered as my buddy is now getting his 3rd. one , ha !! The first one seized up we believe due to no baffling & just last week his 2nd. one started clanging, & that was with good baffling, so HK is sending another one, the 3rd. one !! I was really surprized as that eng. really pulled that big plane around nice, till about the 7th. or so flight & I was the one that found it when I was attempting to start it for him. I only let it run a few seconds & shut it down as soon as I heard the clanging .
Sorry to bring bad news & hope your eng. works well, keep us posted !!
Thanks, John !

Hummm I have not run it yet, I'll try it in a couple of weeks. I don't have an airframe for it but I'll run it on a test stand.

Thanks for letting me know

At least HK is sending you replacements. I'll report facts as I get them.

Thanks again
