Damn I'm hungry
Well did not get as much done as I would have liked but a certain toy had me playing electronics technician. The transmitter that came with the Hex-copter would not work and the 6 AA batteries I had put in it got hotter than hell. Found the 3volts out to the OSD connection shorted on the internal board. I fixed it
. Also found loose solder and disconnected signal 
wire on the right gimbal pot board. That would have made for a very interesting first flight.
Did come up with a good way to make sure the pigtails do not come loose or unplugged from the receiver. The cross piece (will be cut from a popsicle stick) captures the tops of the pig tail connectors and firmly holds them in place.

Alright.....got the radio in and functioning. Need to find me a forstner bit so I can mount the power plug for the ignition.
Will get some pics of battery location once all is done. This is about as "wire free" looking as I have ever done. Just don't look to hard at the pipe tunnel.

Did not run the engine yet. I forgot the RcExl ignition cut off requires modification if using one battery and no BEC.
So the Smart fly is going in but I need the optical Xmtr. Will have it some time at the end of the week.
Mean wile; it has been rainy and nasty this weekend. Good for shop time and football!

So this is where the assembly stands...........
Need to do......
1. Mount elevator servos and linkages.
2. Mount aileron servos and linkages.
3. Mount rudder and install pull pull system.
4. Install opto xmtr for ignition kill.
5. Operate engine and set needles for first flights.
6. Install engine baffles and trim out bottom of cowl.
7. MAIDEN!
The opto xmtr will be mounted just behind the radio receiver where the opto cable is in the pics.
