Peak Models 32% Extra 330 SC

Hey! What are good buds for anyways!? . To be honest.....When I look at those two beautiful boo....I mean burgers.....I get hungry all over again.

The extra 330sc "incarnate"......

Found the V2 which is supposed to be a tad lighter, carbon fiber reinforced fuse and wings, hinged with flat hinges for optimum control surface throw . Oh! and the scheme...Really nice IMO....wont need any stickers on this one .

After getting the "Bugs" worked out of the V1 it did fly really well with a DA70. So on to V2 which will be powered up with a DL50 and canister muffler. The DL50 was completely overhauled and modified with a custom piston ring and split reed halves. Will be swinging a Xoar sword 23x8 prop. A box should be here next week! Will be using BB BLS H50B servos on all surfaces (overkill but it is what it is) and the BLS2209 on throttle.

Kelly, that is really pretty! And that new rebuilt dl50 should yank it around like an FMS foamy. I am really excited for you and can't wait to see the end results. Way to go my friend, way to go!

I like that scheme!

I wont have to break the bank to get this one to "pop" . Ordered up some RC goodies to complete it.....9ch power-safe Rx, 4.5" carbon spinner, 2 3000mah 2S lipo receiver packs, 5 aluminum servo discs for custom CF arms and a CF pull pull rudder tray. Also found some nice 20awg HD servo extensions.

Just started assembly on the Peak 32% LaserX. I received it last year on a promotion deal directly from Peak. I really cant complain on the price of $480 shipped. In starting the assembly I have found many areas that need attention , like lack of glue, misaligned wood and large gaps in the wood areas. I also have beefed up the firewall and will beef up the landing gear area. The covering is Ultracoat and I really like the color scheme Dark Yellow and Dark Red with White thin trim ultracoat . I went over the whole plane and tightened the covering but really for sitting for almost a year I didn't have to do a lot of shrinking. Hardware looks descent , going to mount a RCGF 60 Twin on it. I live in the Midwest so our flying season is over until March of 2018. I forgot to mention when I received the plane the rudder and both elevator/slabs and one wing was heavily damaged from shipping. I contacted Peak and they sent me out new parts within a week. Other than the above mentioned areas I think the project will be good and it should be a good flyer with the 60 twin. Going with Promodler servos , they look very well made.

Hey guys i have a question, my LaserX 32% came with flat style hinges, never have used them . Has anyone had any problems with the Peak Flat hinges, wondering how they hold up ect. I was looking at Dubro brand flat hinges also thinking the Dubro brand hinges might be a little better quality??

Can't go wrong with the DuBros. Scuff em before gluing in and I then also use a T-pin pushed through it. I use Robarts for the pin style. My Extra was shown to have the flat hinges as well but when it showed up it was done up for the pin hinge. Any way get rid of the supplied hinges flat or pin because they fail easily. Only quality flat hinging and "pining it in" is done by Pilot RC on their airframes.
