For those wondering......

The dry weight of the Fly Model MXSR with a DLE60 twin and stock muffs running two 3000mah lipo packs is exactly 18 pounds. MKS 777
on elev/rud BB3114's on ail and 2209 thr. 2.7oz(MKS) and 2.5oz(BB) respectively each for servo weight. One thing I noticed is that the wing panels are pretty heavy at 2 pounds 2oz each. The Extra 330sc's are 1 pound 11oz (with 3oz servo).

The extensions slide all the way up the muffler down tubes and are approx. 5" long extending the approx. 3" length of the down tube by approx. 2". Of course this is approximate lol. The outside diameter of the muffler down tubes is 22mm and the inside diameter of the aluminum tubing extension is 22mm. Nice snug fit but not needing any special tool (hammer lol). Once in place I drilled through both the extension and down tube with a 5/64th bit and then tapped 4-40 threads.

We got the plane maiden today and the extensions really quieted down the engine but performance seems the same. It was actually more quiet than my DL50 on a canister!

You know you are correct instead of pushing against it I should have drilled a hole and taped it that would have worked silly some times how just don’t think of the most obvious and feel like a twit.

Have you noticed how heavy the MKS777 servos are. Don’t get me wrong love the servos and think they are the best servos I have right now but they are quit a bit heavier than the standard servo.

Have you noticed how heavy the MKS777 servos are. Don’t get me wrong love the servos and think they are the best servos I have right now but they are quit a bit heavier than the standard servo.

Yes but not that bad really (2.7oz). My H50B's weigh 3oz! each. I love the really smooth gear train in 777's. And over 500oz in of torque aint to shabby either for such a smooth servo.

Permission to hi-jack the thread? @49dimes, what adhesive did you use on the gear block in the QQ Extra? I'm debating 30 min epoxy vs Gorilla Glue. Also thinking of some carbon fiber rods 2-3" through the gear block into the foam above? How is yours holding up?

I used 30 minute epoxy. I also glued a piece of 1/4" x 3/8" hardwood stock down the middle of the gear plate that slides in to the slot that's left in the foam from the plastic one. It gives ample area and strength for just the glue to bond and hold everything. The foam will break up before the gear plate comes loose. Mine is holding up extremely well. The guys at the field are impressed at how good the ground handling and rolling on grass or pavement is.
