No time for flying. BUILD.... BUILD....BUILD!!!

Never made it back to the Bulldog build, got busy. The last few weeks I have been doing a lot of practicing for TG. And also been working on the Red Eagle's cowl, paint stripped, glass repairs made, done the sand and prime a few time's, one more wet sand and it should be ready for some color.

Every time I see that cowling it really brings home the size of the Red Eagle!

I don't think I have mentioned it here but over this past year or so I have been working with a fella on getting a scale Bulldog for a short kit drawn and cut. I believe we are done with the design and ready for the cutter. He also has a guy going to CAD a scale cowl and canopy then 3D cut me a foam plug. Yesterday I ordered the engine, a Valach 140. When I get ready to start the build I will start a new build thread. As for the Challenger/ Bulldog I, I will get back to it after Nall.

The Eagle cowl has the base white on, spent a lot of time sand and fill, it's not perfect but will get the job done. Tomorrow I can tape the white stripe then paint the red and blue. Thursday I can tape and paint the gold, then Friday is apply the vinyl and clear coat.
This will give me one week to get ready for TG. So next week it has got to see some hang time.....

Now has some color. Hopefully wrap it up tomorrow with the vinyl, gold stripes, and clear coat.

The cowl is done and back on and all that is left to do is bolt the seat with Barbie down then slide the canopy on. I am looking to take it out tomorrow and get reacquainted with the ole bird.
I did spend some time working on a baffle before the paint was done and have to say I am quit pleased with how it turned out.

It is by invitation. How does one get invited you ask, well, in general I do not know. Frank saw the Red Eagle at Monster Planes and I asked him if he thought it was worthy of such. Of course he said absolutely and asked if I were interested, where as I replied sure. I do know it is a fun event to watch, as I have done for many years as the crash cart operator. Always thought I'd like to do it just for sake of doing it. So, Wah Lah!

I just has a marvelous thought, I could put the Valach 140 in the Bulldog I. It will be a while before the Bulldog II is ready and when the time came the engine would be well broken in. Ohh Yeaaa!!!
