    Welcome!

Pop goes the prop!

I didn't see the original post but I also realize my post was made in a perhaps more aggressive tone than I meant. I was just curious as I've never seen it. My club flies smaller airplanes ( 500 cc on average for hpthe serious guys) and a carbon fiber prop is relatively rare so that explains at least part of my not seeing this.
WOW! Your club considers 500cc smaller average planes? :pink_epic:

@Wacibipe, I read a lot more into it than there was. No excuse, but at that time it was a quick peek whilst in the middle of doing a bunch of crap. After BFK noted it, I re-read and realized my response was way off and removed it.

I've heard of delamination occurring, but never personally seen it. With this hobby, anything is possible.

I have been in iMac for 2 years now, and seen many many flights, of my buddies and myself, probably over 1000 flights, and have never heard seen this until this past weekend. The sound was like a "pop", I thought maybe a back fire or the reed valves gave out, however, my friend told me, (once he landed), that after the pop, the airplane lost significant power. When he came in for the landing, it sounded like the motor was running fine. He then killed the power right before touching down.
