Post your best tricks and tips on how to get out to the field!

Ok, life... life can be a mean SOB, taking way too much time and not allowing enough free time to do the things that you love. Like flying. With family commitments, kids sports and lessons, work, weddings, it can be almost overwhelming! So occasionally you need a good excuse to lay on the loved ones to escape to the field and get some flying in.

SO.. let's hear them... how do you guys get out? I've use the few I have a few too many times and am starting to get blocked.... I NEED HELP!

I am with sleepy... I am about to become a father in November which I am so excited for but I need to get the plan ready!

I dont have to worry about making excuses to go flying. I just do it.

I hear ya Bro. The first six months of this year was dedicated to my daughter's wedding. Now that it's over, I'm finally getting back to my airplanes. My wife's family is having their big annual family reunion this weekend. I just straight up told them I'm going to the flying field for the whole weekend. It just so happens that I'm off Saturday and Sunday, and for the first time in months it's not suppose to rain! And high temps in the low 80's! I told my wife that I've been on some one else's schedule all year. And that this weekend is ALL MINE!

This won't help at all..... I don't think any way, I have a live in better half who could care less about the planes, Maybe she knows if Im spending money on them it stays out of strip clubs, So I live about a mile from the field. Fist step make sure the battery's are charged, 2nd have fuel mixed and finally make sure the trailer is in the locked position and then I go fly.

I play the brownie point system, do above and beyond the honey dos, throw in extras anytime I get chance. I make sure she knows dates I need well in advance. If she even hints she wants something, or wants me to hang/go with her, I get up and move, no questions asked, yeah it may suk to go shop with her, but in the end she lets me go play most anytime I want. If things get in the way, and I decide to go fly when she doesn't want me to, I just blame the DONKEY. It's a balancing act fellas, it also doesn't hurt the fact that she is an amazing, smart, beautiful, sexy azz mama, that LOVES me, and knows I'm much happier if I get to go fly.

RETIRE!!!!!!! My wife will tell me, "Gee Honey, weather looks awesome tomorrow....why don't you go fly!" She's a keeper!!!!
