Ok wing is done, ailerons are hinged, wing tip and leading edge is also done. Checked the wing several times for imperfections and fixed it, it is what it is, this can be a never ending job.
Ok this is the part I always struggle with how to finish or I should say cover the plane. I do like using bright yellow, dark blue and white I find it to be the best colours I can see for orientation. Any help, advice or suggestions will be appropriated.
This is what I was thinking of trying to do. Remember the canopy is completely balsa sheeted.

Swap the yellow out for orange or red and my brain says winner! Those colors are easier for me to see.

I would I like to do orange unfortunately I have a 10 meter roll of yellow and you know what a 10meter roll of Ultracote goes for. And yes most of my planes have orange.

I don't think I will ever cover a plane again but I would give Neucover a try if the time comes, 5 meters for $18.00.

Thanks for that will do some research on it. Have you used it and who sells it.
I agree paint is nice and is so much better. I have more than enough to paint the plane, the only problem is it have knower to do it . Always used Stits and it always came out good and light. If I wanted to paint the plane I would have wait for summer and paint outside. The last time I did that the the people living around me complained of the smell. I had a nice place to paint but it is no longer available.

Value Hobby seems to be the place, I have never used it but have read good things about it.
I think the late 90's was the last time I used Ultracoat on a build, much preferred Monokote but that baby got throw out with the bath water. The last wings I covered with Monokote, Byron Glasair, was a nice plane and sorry it is gone. Still have a bare fuselage and I saved one wing and the stab just in case. It was powered by a curused Valley View 40 twin, it was in three different planes and each one is gone, the engine went to auction, thank God!

I believe lot people would like to see Monokote come back. Me personally overall I liked the old UltraCote the new one is not so good. What do miss from Monokote is its ability to cover over one another with out getting air bubbles and also trim solvent it worked well.

Well after owning JR from 1985 till 2026 so after 10 radios and 41 years I think I have decided to change radio manufacturer. It has taken a lot of research and soul searching but I believe I am going to buy a PowerBox radio system. It has all the necessary features that I require for the future and today. The features that I am looking for at present is 3 temperature feed backs, a good gyro system with a GPS gain control on the Gyro. Any recommends are welcome.
