The wood was crushed from the washers for the hatch bolts and at the rear of the wing pocket from the impact. Epoxy with micro balloons makes a very light, hard and easy to sand filler. Some Vaseline on a hatch bolt then thread it into the blind nut to make sure none gets in the threads.

laminated carbon fiber cloth to 1/8 ply then attached it to the 1/4 firewall with, you guessed it, more epoxy and clamps

. this provides an extremely strong firewall. I also doweled the holes for engine bolts that I had drilled too low on the firewall.
