Resurrecting an Old Favorite - 3DHS 87" Extra SHP

It's a new year and a new plane....well, sorta new! Wings are repaired (just some slight damage)....slid them on the tube and checked incidences. Some minor adjustments to the holes in the fuse and both were dead on at zero.

CG with empty tank is just slightly tail heavy, but this plane is very forgiving so the re-maiden won't be any problem. Batts are in the motorbox right now....we'll see how she flies before making any moves with them. A few minor details to work on and with the bitter cold moving in this week, looks like I'll have plenty of time to attend to those before flying her.

Does it ever bother your conscience that you are passing off a "BRAND NEW" plane as a "REPAIRED" plane? HMMMM?????

Seriously Earle, that ole' girl looks as good as new. Hard to imagine she was almost "firewood" (sacrifice to the plane gods). Can't wait to hear how she re-maidens. Good luck....

Hahaha. ....! I am so soooo glad i didn't sacrifice the old girl. I remember when we were moving thinking I should just get rid of all these parts .

Weather here should be up in the 50s toward the end of the week, she might see some sky time

Sa-weetness!!!! I remember back when you moved. You had a heap on your plate didn't you?! Common sense...(and the "I'm a hangin' on to everything" sickness") paid off for you. On the flip side of that coin, take a look at my plane room. You'll soon realize, "I just gotta git rid of some of this stuff.......someday"! Lol. She is a beauty Earle. Good job.

My pilot is ready to go and out for vengeance!!!! If figured I'd stay with a bird scheme as my other plane is a Raven, flown by a damned old pirate .
This bird is angry and out for blood......he's been shot down once, but the next kill is his . Weapons and NoS is armed and ready!!!

Love the bullet holes that looks cool. So is it ready to fly now the big moment. I will some times procrastinate for quite some and look at it for a while before I fly the plane.

BTW.... the canopy was cracked and glued so i put the bullet holes to hide that.
