@Hinckley Bill is absolutely correct. The Solution XX is just a larger version for a 100 cc engine. He may be correct with it being 92" as well, but I don't remember for sure either.. I want to build one and put the new rear intake 3W110XI CS in it. That would be an AWESOME combination, indeed. . . . . . . :yesss:
I would have to go with the DLE 120 or GP 124, if size and weight would allow it maybe even the DLE 170

Robert,

To my knowledge the only difference between the X and the XX is their size.....I had both and that's the only difference I could see

Bill
Thank you kindly for the info, the larger is what I want, big enough for the 120, 124, or (uh hmm) a 170?.

Robert,

Buddy of mine actually finished the build of the XX I sold him.....he has a DA-150 installed but has not had time nor inclination to fly it. When I find pictures of it I'll post them

So, what I'm hearing is, a DLE 170 may fit the bill best. Thanks Bill!

Robert,

I'll send an email to the XX owner and see if he has any pictures of the installed DA-150 that he can send for me to post for you

Bill

Here are some pics of my buddies Weeks Solution XX....unfortunately I was wrong on his engine choice, as he actually has a BME110 installed...he did say that if it wasn't enough power he was looking at installing a DA-150

Very nice Bipe, colors really pop. I will be putting a DLE 111 in the current Challenger build, that should give me an idea of power to weight ratio for such an airframe.

Question:
I'm assembling a Pitts and don't want to take the wings off to charge and fuel. I've looked at the miracle switch. is it compatible with an ignition cut off ? Or, is there a better way to go ? I'm also thinking about a battery elimination device for the ignition . What are you guys doing ?

Thanks
Randy

I run my ignition through a switch, the miracle switch to be precise. Some I have dual batts some single, but all have a Tech Aero IBEC in them.
