Well it seems I'm going to be putting a biplane together this winter. Unfortunately it's not for me, it's for my flying buddy Tony. I guess the good thing is I don't have to pay for it, or assemble it at the field, but I still get to fly it.
It's a Krill 120cc Ultimate. It will have a DA120 with canisters, Hitec servos and a Spektrum PowerSafe reciever. We'll also be repainting it with a custom scheme. When we were younger Tony work as a mobile vinyl pinstripe guy, so he's awesome at laying tape. He and I painted a ton of airplanes together back in the day.
He originally wanted to order a custom scheme from Krill, but they told him he wouldn't get it till next summer at the earliest, so he bought the only one Chief had in stock and we'll paint it.
It turns out the only one they had in stock had a replacement fuselage. I guess the original was damaged in shipping. The problem with that is they didn't tell him that when he bought it. After about a week he called to find out where the plane was, and they told him they goofed and would be shipping right away. A few days later he called to make sure, and they finally told him about the replacement fuselage. They did knock off some money for it at least.
The replacement needs the rudder post installed and a few other things that would normally be done. Thankfully we had decided to paint it already, because the color of the replacement fuse is not quite the same as the cowl, rudder, and canopy. And when you look at the photos you'll notice there is just a little something wrong with the "Ultimate" on the sides of the fuse.
I will start a new thread when I get going on it.

Am I the only one that thinks there should be no excuse for such an obvious error like that on a plane that costs as much as a Krill does? I guess for some reason Krill could only put seven letters on each side of the plane. . . . .

All we could come up with was that the original fuselage either didn't say Ultimate, or it was further forward on the airplane.
Tony stopped by my work today and said he's narrowing a scheme choice down. He's going to bring me the fuse, rudder and cowl tonight so I can get started putting the rudder post in and split the cowl.
Here is a scheme he's leaning towards, only modified for an Ultimate.

Oh I do like that one. Why didn't anyone show me this one when I was doing the Pitts? I get it. It was being saved huh? Little buggers. LOL. I say, do that one. On the Ultimate, it would be so awesome.
