Scale Sig 1/3 Scale Spacewalker

Took a good bit of time to make sure the wing joiners were aligned properly. I secured the wings so they were upright which allowed me to measure and get them centered on the spars and ply mounting blocks. They were all dry fitted and all the bolts drilled and secured before using System Three T-88 epoxy.

2 sections of the first fuselage half framed up today.

Randy,
I thought the doubler would overlap the joint on the sides, it doesn't appear to. What does that joint look like?

Not sure, haven’t gotten to that point yet and I haven’t looked ahead in the manual. I do recall reading that some builders reinforced the joint.

Front fuselage sides joined. Just epoxied the rear section at the tail end and allowing to dry overnight. Next step is to add the cross braces and then join the 2 halves together. I checked back through some build threads and found that it's a good idea to reinforce the joint with some additional plywood which I plan to do.

These aren't exactly in sequence but it does show my progress to date. The first pic shows where I added some lite ply to the joint between the front and rear halves of the fuselage. The former shown in the second pic also adds some additional strength to the fuse. The 3rd pic was just to see how well the center wing section matched up to the fuse. Next up is mounting the firewall and placement of the NGH 38 engine.
