I am inclined to agree with you. A bit spooky. Yet at the same time, videos have recently been posted to YouTube showing perfect operation. But that really doesn't mean it will be that way every time.Yea that is what I would do if you decide to place ANY transmitter on your plane. The main issue IMO is the simple fact that our transmitters are really not that powerful, therefore the received signal at the plane is VERY low. When you have a transmitter in the same band on the plane it is difficult for the RX to find the linked signal through all of the noise on board. If it was me, I would not put any transmitter on board that ran in the same band that was not automatically de-conflicted like spectrum's telemetry.
