SOLOSHOT2: Get The Perfect RC Video of Your Plane In Flight By Yourself!

Yea that is what I would do if you decide to place ANY transmitter on your plane. The main issue IMO is the simple fact that our transmitters are really not that powerful, therefore the received signal at the plane is VERY low. When you have a transmitter in the same band on the plane it is difficult for the RX to find the linked signal through all of the noise on board. If it was me, I would not put any transmitter on board that ran in the same band that was not automatically de-conflicted like spectrum's telemetry.
I am inclined to agree with you. A bit spooky. Yet at the same time, videos have recently been posted to YouTube showing perfect operation. But that really doesn't mean it will be that way every time.

Geez, I was all hot to pull the trigger on this one, but then some real good questions were posed about interference on the 2.4 ghz band. That's a serious concern. @SleepyC , any thoughts on this, while you're enjoying your cold beverage in your lawn chair?

I want to test one! But the videos sure look good!

I received the soloshot and this thing is awesome. The set up and calibration of the tag to the controller only takes a few minutes. I would assume that is uses a GPS signal because the tag has to have a clear unobstructed view of the sky for its warm up and it will not work indoors. After calibrating I went around the yard holding the tag, going from a brisk walk to running. I played back the video and it does an amazing job keeping the video focused and in frame. Hopefully the weather will cooperate so that I can test it at the flying field.

Oh my oh my......this is so exciting. I can't wait to hear how it performs for you. A lot of us are really wanting it, but so very cautious due to possible interference with our radio systems. Keep us posted please.

Are you going to velcro the tag to the outside of the plane....where do you plan to mount it?

This keeps getting better and better...

Man... I just need like 6 tags, and I could have my dream of covering events seated with a beer in hand... watching the camera do the work for me. Or I could take some stills while the soloshot does the hard stuff. :D:D:D
