Alrighty, fuselage is wrapped up and going to start on landing gear. Installed a few gussets and tri-stock in the engine box, checked the fuse for straightness and squareness and even showed a pic of my building table that sags by .1" in the middle to show that you don't have to have anything special to get this part done as long as you follow the steps. All materials used to this point are included in the kit (except glue)!

I went pretty crazy on the Medium, Thick and some Thin CA on this and this is the lightest fuse I've ever had. 3# dead on!

With the foam on Terry where do you think the fuse will weigh, 3.5 lbs?

Well, that's a hard question. There are lots of little thing that go with it like the hardware I just started putting in like blind nuts and some other things. I need to add wing tube sockets yet. I've never weighed the foam all by itself because it really weighs almost nothing compared to the adhesive and sheeting for the foam. I'll keep posting some weights as I go along, and I will be pulling out all my bag of tricks to lighten the sheeted surfaces to get this one down to 25lb. and change. If you want me to weigh something as you see me post it, just yell I'll be happy to do it!

So I finished up the landing gear both front and back. Installed a wood block for the tailwheel wire. I'm going to be using the cowl that I laid up by first pre-priming the mold. This will help me expedite this build a little since there is zero pinholes in it right now, and will require minimal prep depending on how much I scratch it up. Fibertech makes the glass cowls for my kits, they are constantly innovating and have come up with a very nice process that they are working on.

The Engine I'm using for this build is a DLE111, latest version that I had on a plane that I recently sold. It is barely broken in and has bowman rings, DA carb (because I had one at the time), surfaced reed block, etc. It has amazing compression and is the strongest 111 I've seen. It will be a good fit, however the DA100 / Jtec mufflers I don't think will work without cutting the cowl front. So I ordered up some stock DLE mufflers with the chamfered front which should fit well. "Slick" compacts also fit perfectly as previously confirmed.

Looks like it is ready to fly! Awesome work Terry!
Little breezy yet to fly, but it was a good stopping. Mufflers may be here Saturday and foam will be here next week. I have to make a road trip today for some building goodies so no progress today. Only a handful of parts left so I'll work on those and cut some foam stabs this weekend. I'm going to experiment with a couple of things on stabs so I wanted to cut them myself this time.
