It definitely can save you damage on a bad landing, but it was annoying me on good landings! It's all preference! Like I said- you will be happy with either! I flew both before I bought mine and just preferred the EF.

My main beef with the wire gear was that if I did plop it down a little harder, the gear wold flex so much I'd strike the prop and break it... but then I was landing on a hard surface!

Yeah, my buddy wasn't using xoar because of that same issue. It's a definite give and take! Every time he harrier landed, he couldn't taxi the plane back because of the bend. On the same note, he sucks and that same bend probably would save him a carbon gear or two over the life of the plane!

That's weird I have had zero issues with mine. To each his own I guess. The plane flys awesome that's for sure. I have tons of flights on it.

I think that's the point. :p it makes you grease your landings because you don't want to break your prop, and then you are a good lander so you don't break your carbon gear :D

I wonder if 3DHS didn't just get a crummy run of steel for the wire gear. Some never had a problem with it, others (myself included) could grease a perfect landing and still end up looking like it pancaked from 5'. My Yak gear is good, I only have to straighten it on HARD landings. If I get another Edge frame, I'll probably just use the wire gear from the Yak in it.

hmm.........so do you guys recommend carbon gear? (I have no issues with landings). When I was flying my spitty and T28 I greased every landing

I'd stick with wire gear, but do the "screw it in" method instead of epoxy, that way you have options for changing it if it gets too beat up.

But what's the point of wire gear when I land perfectly? Lol. Hey plank is the edge precise? The reason I was steering aways from it at one point was because it didnt seem to draw very good lines.

If you want draw lines. I think the shp would be more for you. The shp is a great plane to learn with. I like my slicks the best, but everyone is different. You can't go wrong with the shp.
