Yea, for sure. if he would have failed it that would likely have been one of the last times I ever went to that field.

I would have done the same exact thing.

It is the closest field to me that allows gas planes. But due to issues with neighbors there are restrictions on when you can fly them. Saturday and Sunday are the only full days of gas flying. I almost never fly on Sunday so it does not work well with my work schedule.

That is tough, in that case if it were me I may consider more electric setups. Fortunately I am lucky enough to have both and use both at the same field.

I like gas and won't be moving to a lot of electric setups any time soon for financial reasons. So... more often than not I just drive 30-40 minutes to another field that has no restrictions.

It would be interesting to know what aftermarket mufflers offer from a sound suppression stand point. Not all airplanes can handle canisters.

Our field opens at 8am for electrics and 9am for everything else 7 days a week. It is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. The landowner can also request a down day with advanced notice. I have never seen him request one though. We have a 400' paved runway surrounded by a hay field.

I know the feeling. Been flying mostly electric over the past few years and just recently started flying gas. I usually bring both to the field, but naturally I get more stick time with the gasser. I too would drive to the field without restrictions.

I just got an email back from JTec and they said that the larger putts wrap around is just a couple dB quieter than their basic version. No performance difference though. Could be good if you are right on the bubble for noise restriction.

Well, now that I have had mine tested and got the little sticker I'm good to go. No worries about sound.

No huckfest in Wenatchee this year!! I have gone there every year they had it... Tri Cities have picked it up but it is not sponsored by PAU.......
