I've been flying the snot out of the Flitz2. It's just super convenient to fly for me. Today I had a neat experience at the turf field after work, the wind was calm, but then it was switching back and forth. I looked around and felt where the breeze was going and launched high (well for me). After a few passes I felt where I was in lift and started my circling. I flew up for a few minutes and my eyes were straining to see in the clouds, so I dove, did some aerobatics and hit a low level bubble to hoist me back to the huge thermal I was in and after seven minutes I came back down...
Apparently my aerobatics attracted some bald eagles... A LOT OF BALD EAGLES.... did I say A LOT!!!?!???! after my second flight the eagles were coming in from all directions to play in the thermal that I had found.
I was pushed to the opposite side of the field due to some soccer players and eventually had to get going, but before I left I counted how many were where I had been circling. There were 37 bald eagles circling in the thermal I found.... and more on the way... with those included, and four in a bubble nearby as well I counted 48. Crazy cool. The Eagles never showed any interest in the glider - other than it told them where to go. They were 100 to maybe 2,000ft high in a huge cyclone.
Towards the end I could feel a tiny pull towards the thermal, even the bubbles I was in were going there.
Need to start playing with flight modes to become more efficient as the eagles were out flying me! the lift did not feel very quick, just consistent.
Sorry for the novel, but just too neat.
