I have never see any evidence that cold weather has had any effect on my planes over the years no matter how cold it gets. Just do not touch them and just leave then alone until spring. Even use to leave my NiCads in the plane but with LiPo they come out.Well another weekend of high -23c down to -27c ,upper windows on the garage door completely covered in frost . It is insulated but not heated , i'm just cold soaking the aircraft and gear .

The worst for me was leaving 72 degrees in North Carolina many years ago and a few hours later having to push some idiots 280Z that was stuck in 6" of snow right behind my 4X4 at the St. Louis airport.-13C/8F here... garage is cold!! Just came back from a much needed vacation with 80F weather. Weird to think in less than a 24hr period I went from swimming in an ocean to shoveling snow in a parka. HA! Good thing I can crank the heater and work on projects!

I had some friends that left St. Louis flew to Colorado to go skiing, then flew straight to Cancun to go diving. They said they got some awfully strange looks with ski gear at the airport in Mexico.

My wife flew from St John's Newfoundland to Calgary yesterday and the plane from TO was 2 hrs and 40 minutes delayed because of the ice Ontario received. She was only four hours late but arrived without an issues thanks to those deicing guys taking get care to the ice on the aircraft ..
